There are some things swimmers might like to know about our swimming programs, lessons and classes before signing up to attend Shellharbour Swim Academy. To help you get your questions answered more quickly, we have listed our most frequently asked questions below.

What are your payment options?
We accept direct debit, EFTPOS, cash and cheques to pay for all swimming programs, lessons and classes.
What is the frequency of payment?

We ask for monthly payments and all fees for the swimming programs, classes and lessons must be paid one month in advance.

How long will it take my child to learn how to swim?

Every child is different so we can’t give you an exact estimation. It really depends on your child’s willingness and desire to learn to swim. All children learn at a different pace and develop their skills at different times, however, your encouragement as parents should make their learning experience a very pleasurable one.

Are you closed during the school holidays?

No, we are not closed during school holiday periods. This means you can depend on us, all year round with no lengthy gaps in between your healthy routines.  

Do you offer large family discounts?

Yes we do. Shellharbour Swim Academy tries to keep our services affordable and we offer discounts to all families with more than two children wishing to participate in our swimming programs, lessons and classes. 

Do you use a lot of chlorine in the swimming pool?

Unlike other local swimming centres in Shellharbour, we try to keep chlorine usage to a minimum. We achieve this by using UV and ozone to help sanitise the water as recommended by the Department of Health.

Can I remove my child from swimming programs during the winter?

We don’t recommend you doing so as this can affect their learning ability and fitness level. For the best results, your child should attend swimming lessons all year round to keep them at a steady progressive pace.

If my child misses a lesson, can they make up the time they lost somewhere else?

Yes of course. If your child is unwell and needs to miss a scheduled lesson, you have 30 days to book a makeup lesson without incurring any penalties.

What days can I book a pool party?

Due to all our swimming programs, lessons and classes, we take bookings for pool parties on Saturday afternoons only from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, 3:30pm – 5:30pm or 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Your party will have the whole pool to yourselves and we will also provide the food, invitations, inflatable obstacle course and your own party host.

What do I do if I have a complaint or feedback?

Shellharbour Swim Academy is always to continuously improve its services for both its customers and staff members alike. If you have any feedback, suggestions or praise, feel free to fill in our Feedback Form.

However, sometimes things can go wrong - so if you have a complaint, we want to hear from you so we can make ammends. The best way to tell us is through the Complaint Form. Please note that all information supplied through these forms is confidential and only seen by Senior Management (Owners and Business Development Manager).
