COVID-19 Procedures & Restrictions
For the benefit of not only you and your children, but also staff and other patrons, there are some COVID-19 safety measures at Shellharbour Swim Academy until further notice. These measures are not personal, and if you are asked by a staff member to adhere to the rules, please do so – it is not an attack on you. If we all work together, we can help stop the spread of Coronavirus and get back to normal sooner, rather than later..
ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR AND LANGUAGE DIRECTED TOWARDS ANY SHELLHARBOUR SWIM ACADEMY STAFF MEMBER WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
We understand that there are differing views on the health restrictions in place from the Government and that these issues can be divisive at times. However, Shellharbour Swim Academy will take a no tolerance approach when it comes to the way our staff, in and out of the water, are treated.
We are under requirements set out in law. We cannot deviate from these laws if we want to continue teaching your children to swim. So please be kind and patient while we all work through this together.
You must be double vaccinated.
Adhering to the Health Orders put down by the NSW Government and NSW Department of Health, unless you are double vaccinated, you are not permitted entry to Shellharbour Swim Academy premises, include Barrack Heights & Albion Park.
Double vaccination is for adults aged 16 & over.
You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination on entry. If proof cannot be provided, we unfortunately cannot let you enter the building until (as of writing) 1st December 2021.
Who Can I Bring to Lessons?
Until further notice, we ask that all family and friends that want to come and watch your child’s swimming lesson stay at home. Only essential guardians should be in the building with their children. The reason for this measure is two-fold.
1. It limits the number of people in the building and on deck and thus helping to keep everyone CODID-19 Safe.
2. There are only going to be a limited amount of markers to guide people on where to sit and stand.
We understand that it is important for your children to have extended family and friends watch them and how proud they are to show off their skills, but for the time being, this will simply not be possible. Please note that this is only a temporary measure while we all help stop the spread of COVID-19, and when the time is right, this restriction will be lifted.
Feeling Sick? Stay at Home!
This point has been a staple since we opened 15 years ago and applies to all staff and customers alike. If you are presenting any symptoms of the flu, common cold, or COVID-19, then YOU MUST STAY AT HOME.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to stay away from other people if you are feeling unwell with any symptoms. If you bring it into the swim school, not only are you putting the health of others in jeopardy, but you also risk having the swim school closed and deep cleaned.
Should you be presenting symptoms when you turn up to the swim school, you will be asked to immediately remove yourself and your children from the premises in the interest of everyone else. Your lessons will be credited back to you in the form of makeups and you can use these upon your return. We may ask that you get tested for COVID-19 and provide proof of being negative before we allow you to continue classes.
In One Door, Out the Other
To help distance customers, especially at our pinch-points (gates and reception desk), we will have both the front door and rear door open for customers to move through.
The front door will be ENTRY ONLY and the rear door will be EXIT ONLY. This is the same principle that you may have seen at Bunnings and some Woolworths stores.
X Marks the Spot
You will notice in a lot of businesses these days that there a markings on the floors and seats telling you where you should stand and sit. We will have these markings as crosses on the floors and seating throughout the swim school. We ask all customers to adhere to these markings – especially at reception.
If you are unsure, unhappy or need any clarification about any of the points above, please do not hesitate to ask. Our reception desk or management is more than happy to assist you.
